If you want to lose weight, toss your bathroom scale and concentrate on the benefits of exercise. Exercise boosts your metabolism and energy level, eventually shedding those extra pounds. “Exercise alone will reduce your risk factors for heart disease and diabetes,” says Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network cardiologist Deborah Sundlof, D.O. “As you lose weight, you’ll reduce your risk factors even more.”
